A brief set back...

Does this sound familiar to anyone?
You have decided you want to make a change in your life.
You make a realistic plan and feel energized and excited to tackle your new goal.
For the first week or two everything goes well.  You are following your plan, you love the results and you wonder why it took you so long to make this change.
Then...
Out of nowhere...

Murphy shows up!

Does this happen to you too?

I was doing so well on the clutter-free classroom project.  I accomplished the first two weekly challenges and I was still going strong.  This weekend I planned to tackle my teacher's desk and the teacher's area.  Have you seen those pictures, yikes!

Last week I had over 30 absences in my class.  The students were passing around a particularly nasty bug.  My hand sanitizer was strapped to my waist.  My husband was sick with the same bug for 10 days.  I thought my "super-teacher" immune system, regular hand washing/sanitizing and twice daily Airborne cocktails had kept me virus-free.  Sadly, no.  Now I am laid up in bed when I desperately wish I could be de-cluttering my classroom.

Rest, fluids, food, repeat.

  1. Oh, no! Sorry Jess. At least you don't have little ones at home yet. :-/ Noah came down with a fever AGAIN last night. He was sick less than two weeks ago, then Ethan, now Noah again. I've got a little something too, but if it doesn't get any worse, I can manage. Too bad Spring Break isn't soon. I think the whole school just needs some time away to stop spreading this thing back and forth. Hope you get well soon. And don't stress about your classroom. It's a work in progress and you'll be able to keep at it when you're feeling better!

    1. Thanks Melanie! It looks like I will be staying home Monday. Garrett had this virus for about 10 days. I really hope you are able to stay healthy.
Hopefully I will see you on Tuesday.

  2. Don't worry- you can get right back to it when you are healthy again! I'm about to begin my 3rd week of the challenge and am a bit nervous I won't stick to it myself. Maybe we can motivate each other! Get well and good luck!!!
